Benjamin D Young

I conduct research at the intersection of Philosophy of Mind and Cognitive Neuroscience with a special focus on Olfaction and the Philosophy of Perception.  Additionally, I maintain research project in Metaphysics, as well as the Philosophy of Psychiatry and Psychopathologies. My work centers upon consciousness, mental content, and perception. Presently my range of research projects include the nature of olfactory consciousness, how to measure the qualitative character of an experience in the absence of conscious awareness, the structural format of non-conceptual content, and how our perceptual ability to track mereologically complex objects across time and space is realized by different sensory modalities.
